Tech 2
Point Defense: Oblivion
The Oblvion Cannon is a hard-hitting phase cannon that is effective at killing units that are grouped together. It fires a regular stream of pulses at incoming units and creates a considerable amount of splash damage in the area. The problem with this point defense is that it has a slower firing rate than its UEF and Cybran counterparts. Although creating a bunch of these point defenses is effective at taking out Siege Bots and even experimentals, having only a couple of them in an area provides only a weak defense, and they may be easily overwhelmed.
Anti-Air Flak Artillery
The Aeon Anti-Air Flak operates much like the other factions' flak cannon. It is useful throughout the entire game as well as throughout Tech 3. When grouped together with T3 SAM launchers, they create a nearly impenetrable air defense, forcing the enemy to resort to another means of attack. It is important to note that these anti-air structures prioritize bombers over any other aircraft. Flak is also the gunship's worst nightmare, and can be built over water.
Artillery Installation: Miasma
The Miasma Artillery installation is an accurate artillery, which deals lots of damage when it hits. Artilleries are mainly used to force a turtling player to attack. If a player's base is being shelled, the other player is compelled to destroy this artillery in order to prevent any more destruction. Artilleries are almost always accompanied by shields as an additional form of protection, since they have a low number of hit points.
Tactical Missile Launcher: Serpentine
The Aeon tactical missile launcher is similar to the UEF tactical missile launcher. In addition to being very helpful in taking out buildings such as factories, point defenses, and artilleries, another good use of the TML is defending against sea attacks. T2 destroyers make easy prey since they do not come equipped with a tactical missile defense, and tend to remain stationary when attacking. Tactical Missiles must be built inside the launcher individually and the target must be set by the player. The TML is a stronger, more accurate form of the artillery since their ranges are very similar.
Tactical Missile Defense: Volcano
The Aeon Tactical Missile Defense system shoots wisps that confuse the targeting systems of the missile and makes the missile inaccurate. The missile then falls from the sky hitting whatever it lands on. Note, that this tactical missile defense does not destroy the missile itself, but rather, redirects it from its intended target. This magical defense systems pretty much renders all Tactical Missile offensives pointless since the tactical missiles, although not destroyed, no longer have the capability of being 100% accurate. The Volcano may be built on water.
Shield Generator: Shield of Light
Aeon are known to have the strongest shields of the three factions. As Aeon at T2, shields are your best friend. Use them. In addition, engineers are able to assist the shield in order to keep it online longer when it is under siege. Shield assisting takes a lot of resources so it should only be done only when absolutely necessary.
Tech 3
Anti-Air SAM Launcher: Transcender
The Aeon Anti-Air SAM Launcher operates much like the UEF's SAM Launcher. It fires one missile at a time, but the rate of fire is faster than the UEF SAM Launcher. When grouped together with T2 Anti-Air Flak, the Aeon SAM Launcher creates a nearly impenetrable air defense, forcing the enemy to resort to another means of attack. It is important to note that these anti-air structures prioritize bombers over any other aircraft. In addition, they are very effective against flying experimental units. SAM Launchers also may be built over water.
Heavy Artillery Installation: Emissary
Aeon Heavy Artillery has the slowest firing rate of all the factions. The T3 artillery has a considerably large range, so it's best to build it in your base provided the map is not ridiculously big. It usually takes only one T3 artillery to break through a standard shield formation (as opposed to layered see below), and devastate the base below the shield. If your opponent doesn't even have shields, the artillery will rip through your opponent's base.
Heavy Shield Generator: Radiance
Aeon Heavy Shield Generators are the toughest shields in the game, making them one of the Aeon's best assets. A very common tactic in shield building is to place the next shield inside the dome of the original shield. Thus, if one shield falters, the other shield is around to defend the first shield, giving it time to recuperate and become operational again. Using this technique, you can create layer after layer of shields, creating a safe and impenetrable web over your base.
